Lucknow: Former UP chief minister and SP president Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday said the graph of BJP-led Central government is coming down ever since the SP-BSP alliance was announced on January 12 this year.
“The announcement of SP-BSP alliance was the happiest moment in the country. Since then, the graph of BJP has been coming down,” former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yadav told reporters here during a press conference.
When asked about Priyanka Gandhi’s entry into politics as Congress general secretary and in-charge for the party’s Uttar Pradesh east affairs, Yadav said: “More and more people should come into politics. It is a good thing.”
In reply to a question, SP chief Yadav said: “The SP-BSP alliance is intact.”
Asked to comment on the questioning of Robert Vadra by the ED, he said: “As the Lok Sabha election dates are approaching fast, the CBI and the ED will reach the leaders of Opposition parties at a faster speed.”
Talking about the Budget which Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath led BJP government tabled in the Vidhan Sabha on
Thursday, he said that the state’s farmers and youths have been betrayed by the current dispensation.
“There is nothing for education and health sectors in the budget. Even there is nothing on security. Forget about making new medical colleges, nothing has been mentioned in the budget about the completion of under construction medical colleges,” he said.
“This is not even a budget for elections. This budget has betrayed farmers and unemployed youth. There is no development, no vision in the budget. They used to say ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,’ but they are betraying the people as a whole,” he said.
Uttar Pradesh Finance Minister Rajesh Agarwal on Thursday presented the state budget for 2019-20 with an annual outlay of Rs 4.79 lakh crore. The annual outlay for the coming fiscal is 12 per cent higher than the current year’s budget Rs 4.28 lakh crore.
* Rs 18,845 crore for basic education
* Rs 6,240 crore for the Pradhanmantri Awas Yojana
* Rs 13,135 crore for development of roads under PWD and Rs 2,100 crore for construction of bridges
* Rs 3,488 crore for the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme
* Rs 3,000 crore for piped drinking water scheme in Vindhya region, Bundelkhand and some of the villages affected by low-quality water
* Rs 2,954 crore for the National Rural Drinking Water Programme and Rs 1,393 crore for National Rural Livelihood Mission
* Rs 1,200 crore for the launch Kanya Sumangla Yojana for the welfare of girls.
* Rs 910 crore for minority community students scholarships
* Rs 459 crore for modernisation of Arabic/Persian language Madarsas
* Rs 300 crore and Rs 200 crore for special programmes in Poorvanchal and Bundelkhand respectively
* Rs 300 crore for development of shrines
* Rs 247.60 crore for construction and maintenance of cow shelters in rural areas and Rs 200 crore for the upkeep of stray cattle in urban areas
* Rs 207 crore for development and maintenance of the corridor from Ganga Ghat to Kashi Vishwanath temple.
* Rs 101 crore for beautification of tourist places in Ayodhya and Rs 125 crore for Braj Teerth
