BJP Telangana today urged Governor E S L Narasimhan to direct the TRS government to celebrate September 17 officially as Telangana Liberation Day.
A delegation of State BJP leaders headed by its president Laxman called on the Governor seeking his help to celebrate the Telangana Liberation Day officially by the State government.
Speaking to the media here on Thursday, Laxman said they met the Governor 18 times on the issue earlier and again today and urged him to direct the government. He also alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has forgotten sacrifices of Telangana martyrs. He also alleged that the TRS government wat not celebrating the TLD officially due to pressure from the AIMIM party. He said Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh would address a public meeting on September 17 at Nizamabad. (NSS
