New Delhi [India]: A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) delegation led by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday met Chief Election Commissioner Om Prakash Rawat here requesting a fair by-election in Odisha’s Bijepur.
Pradhan was accompanied by senior BJP leaders Bhupendra Yadav and Sambit Patra.
The delegation alleged that the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha are misusing the state machinery and have used Rs 1500 crores from the state government fund for personal use.
The bypoll in Bijepur Assembly constituency is scheduled for February 24. It was necessitated following the death of Congress MLA Subal Sahu in August last year. (ANI)
