Hyderabad: Commissioner’s Task Force (South) and officials of Dept. of Civil Supplies in a joint action seized 16 tonnes of rice in Bahadurpura meant for Public Distribution System.
Additional DCP of Task Force, Mr. C. Shashidhar Raju informed that Task Force and Civil Supplies officials raided Akbar Travels and seized a huge quantity of rice.
According to the report, Mr. Mohammed Arif (52) resident of SK Garden, Nawab Saheb Kunta and his son Mohammed Imran alias Bablu (32) who is a rowdy sheeter of Falaknuma Police station helped Akheel, Nawaz, Mohsin, Aziz to get rice which was supplied under PDS. They used to sell it in the black market. This rice used to be kept in the garage of Akbar Travels for black marketing. Task Force arrested Arif and his son, Imran and seized 16 tonnes of rice, a lorry and an Auto Rickshaw trolley. All these were handed over to Bahadurpura Police for taking further action.
