Mumbai: The Bombay High Court will hear the plea filed in connection with the Maratha reservation on December 10. The plea was filed against the reservation given to the Maratha community in education and jobs, under the new law.
A petition was filed in the Bombay High Court on Monday challenging the Maratha Reservation Act. It was filed soon after the Maharashtra government filed a caveat on the Act before the Supreme Court.
On November 30, Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao signed the Maratha Reservation Bill that proposed 16 percent reservation for Marathas under educationally and socially backward category.
