Brain behind Railway job racket arrested

Hyderabad: The CCS, DD police have arrested one Bhagavathula Srinath, 32, of Udyoga Nagar in Kurnool Town, for offering Railway jobs and cheating unemployed youth after collecting Rs 1 crore from 15 victims in 2014.

Acting on a complaint from one Patruni Raghu, student of Kalingapeta village, Budumuru post, Laveru Mandal, Srikakulam District and other victims, the police took up investigation and found that the principal accused and his accomplices cheated job aspirants on pretext of providing Group ‘C’ posts like Ticket Collector, Assistant Station Master, Section Engineers and gangmen in the Eastern Railways, Kolkata in the Railway Ministry quota and collected from each Rs 8 to 10 lakh and issued fake appointment orders in 2014.

Another accused Bhagavathula Lalithamma, 38, of Osman Shahi, Afzalgunj was earlier arrested on September 4, 2015. Dupattla Sashibhushan Rao, Cook in 14th Battalion APSP, Anantapur residing in SI Quarters, Yousufguda was also arrested on July 31, 2015.

The CCS police said B. Srinath, along with other accused, trapped the job aspirants and cheated them by collected huge amounts. The arrest was made under the supervision of G. Jogaiah, Addl. DCP, CCS, DD, Hyderabad and K.N. Vijay Kumar, ACP, D-Division, CCS, DD, Hyderabad. (NSS)
