Bridegroom shot in shoulder during Baraat procession, returns to take wedding vows

New Delhi: The national capital is slowly turning into a safe haven for criminals and it is no longer surprising that most of the crimes be it against women, or other minority communities are widely reported from the northern states.

Recently a 25-year-old Delhi groom was shot in shoulder during his wedding procession in Delhi’s Madangir area.

According to the reports, the incident happened on Monday around 8 pm when the bridegroom named Badal was heading to marriage venue with the Baraat in Madangir area when suddenly two gunmen hopped on to groom’s carriage and shot him in the shoulder.

The shooters had come on a bike and immediately fled from the scene after shooting the bridegroom, India today reports.

The injured bridegroom had to climb down from his carriage to inform the baraati about the incident. Since marriage processions or Baraat’s have loud music no body realized that the groom was shot.

The bridegroom was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he underwent a three-hour long treatment so that he could take part in the wedding ceremonty.

The injured bridegroom returned to the marriage venue deciding to undergo surgery after the wedding.

The Police have registered a case and are investigating the case.
