Bulandshahr firing: Army hands over soldier to police

Srinagar: A soldier allegedly involved in the Bulandshahr firing in Uttar Pradesh in which a police Inspector and a civilian were killed was detained by his unit in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, Army sources said.

Jitendra Malik alias Jeetu Fauji was detained by the 22 Rashtriya Rifles in Sopore town.

According to the report published in Hindustan Times, now, army handed over the soldier to UP Police.

It may be mentioned that police started searching for the soldier after finding him in the video recording of the violence. In the video, he was allegedly seen firing.

The soldier had left his house after the incident which took the life of police inspector.

It may be noted that Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh and a civilian, Sumit Kumar, were shot dead in Bulandshahr in mob violence last week.
