Hyderabad: Normal life was paralysed today across the Telangana state due to the bandh observed by the TSRTC against the Centre’s proposed Motor Vehicles Amendment Bill-2017. Over 3,500 TSRTC buses were off the road in the capital city. Added to the ordeal of the citizens, Auto drivers association and cab managements also participated in bandh.
The people faced hardships due to the non-plying of RTC buses, autos and cabs. The students and employees faced hardships due to the non-availability of buses, autos and cabs. Some auto drivers made hay taking undue advantage of the transport bandh and fleeced the commuters. The commuters were forced to pay hefty charges as demanded by the auto drivers. The Secunderabad, Kachiguda and Nampally Railway stations were filled with commuters to catch MMTS trains to reach their work places. Keeping the bandh in view, the Metro Rail plied trains for every six minutes. (NSS)
