Camps set in Agartala to praise ex-servicemen of Indian Army

Agartala (Tripura) [India], Dec 14 (ANI): With an aim to respect and honour the contribution made by ex-servicemen of the Indian army, the Agartala military station came up with an initiative of organising various activities like free health checkups.

Ex-servicemen are known to be the ‘role models’ of ethical leadership with ingrained morals and value systems focused on ‘Duty, Honour, and Country’, contributing to society and nation building in substantial proportion with a great sense of commitment towards multi-faceted progression and excellence.

In view of spreading awareness about the welfare schemes and projects implemented by the centre, a camp was organised in the outskirts of Agartala under the aegis of Agartala military station. This has largely benefited and helped the family members avail long-term benefits and enabled them to live a respectful life.

The central government has introduced various schemes and programmes for the welfare of the ex-servicemen and their family members.

Talking about the rally, Brigadier Rajesh Bhanu, an organiser, said, “I believe that the government is doing many things for the ex-servicemen and our main motive is to make all the facilities accessible to them. During the rally, we have tried to sort out their pension-related issues, spread awareness about the schemes and projects of the government and make them aware of the advantages available to them.”

During the special programme, the family members of ex-servicemen were provided with several facilities, including free health check-up, distribution of free medicines.

Beside health facilities, the organisers had one-to-one interaction with ex-servicemen and discussed issues related to their pension and other bank-related matters and sought out instant solutions.

The ex-servicemen were also felicitated and honoured for their contribution and sacrifices and were also assured that the Indian Army will always remain with them in their time of need.
