Capt. Pandu Ranga Reddy condemns BJP’s demands to celebrate “Hyderabad Liberation Day”

Hyderabad: Noted historian and President of Voice of Telangana, Capt. L. Pandu Ranga Reddy told that the demand of BJP for celebrating Liberation Day of Hyderabad on 17th September amounts to creating hatred among the people. It is contrary to historical events.

BJP is demanding to celebrate Police Action on Hyderabad as Liberation Day which is not true.

The fact is on this day, Hyderabad State was merged into Indian Union without any battle between the Army of Hyderabad and Indian Army.

Late Nizam of Hyderabad did not oppose the merger of Hyderabad into Indian Union.

Capt. Pandu Ranga Reddy was addressing a press conference at New Press Club, Somajiguda on 15th September.

Capt. Reddy further told that it is a political strategy of BJP to capture the votes in Telangana.

Dr. K. Chiranjeevi, co-Chairman of Telangana Movement Founders’ Forum of 1969 told that it is a story concocted by the non-communist historians who have wrongly portrayed the history of the Nizam in order to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of Telangana. He questioned that how it was possible for Government of India to appoint Nizam VII as Raj Pramukh of Hyderabad State if there had been a conflict between the Nizam and Indian Govt.
