Cardamom futures rise 0.67% as demand picks up

New delhi: Cardamom prices were up by 0.67 per cent at Rs 1,448 per kg in futures trading today as traders built up fresh positions amid uptick in demand in spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in March rose by Rs 9.60, or 0.67 per cent, to Rs 1,448 per kg in business turnover of 14 lots.

Analysts said building up of positions by participants, driven by pick-up in demand in spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions mainly led to rise in cardamom prices.
