Mumbai: A case of cheating has also been registered against entrepreneur-politician Nowhera Shaikh for duping investors, at J J Marg police station in South Mumbai.
On the basis of a complaint by an investor, Maharashtra Police on Tuesday registered a case of cheating against Shaikh who allegedly cheated the victim of Rs 3 lakh.
A senior police inspector Shirish Gaikwad said, that the offence has been transferred to the economics offence wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police.
Luring the investors with the promise of attractive returns on their investments, Nowhera Shaikh, Managing Director of Heera Group of Companies collected a huge amount but failed to return their money.
Nowhera was recently arrested in New Delhi by Hyderabad police.
