The ongoing case in High Court regarding CBI investigations on performance of Waqf Board has created stir in Minority Welfare Department. The recent surprise meeting of Secretary Minority Welfare Syed Omer Jaleel with Chairman Minority Commission Abid Rasool Khan has drawn speculations. Syed Omer Jaleel without any notice suddenly reached Abid Rasool Khan’s chamber and had a talk for almost 2 hours.
This was the first meeting of Secretary Minority Welfare and Chairman Minority Commission. According to sources, besides other matters, the ongoing case in High Court was also discussed during the meeting. It has been learnt that the Secretary requested Abid Rasool Khan not to intensify the follow up of the case regarding CBI investigations. Abid Rasool Khan’s reply is not disclosed, however rumours are rife in Minority Welfare Department that after this meeting the case will be put into cold storage.
