CCTV Vendors meeting held by Rachakonda CP

hyderabad: Rachakonda Commissioner of Police Mahesh M. Bhagwat, IPS, today held a meeting with CCTV vendors/suppliers at his Camp Office, LB Nagar and explained about the minimum standard specifications as envisaged in AP Public Security Act and asked all the vendors to strictly follow them while installing CCTVs under Nenu Saitham and Community CCTV projects. The CP insisted upon the quality and maintenance of CCTVs in order to make them work for a longer time and also asked them to earn goodwill by giving qualitative service to communities and make more business besides serving as a responsible citizen-cum-businessman.

The Commissioner of Police also cautioned the CCTV vendors not to use subsubstandard materials otherwise action will be taken against the people who used such material. A written agreement is must between the parties whenever they take up any community project, he said. Rachakonda Police is having some 22,000 cameras as of now and looking forward to install more cameras in the days to come. He also urged the vendors to actively participate in the community meetings being held by local police almost daily at different colonies/villages and explain about the benefits of CCTVs along with Police. He also informed them that the State government and DGP are very particular about citywide CCTV work extension. He also assured that he will felicitate the vendors, who maintain cameras well and help the police in detection of cases with CCTV footage.

M. Venkateshwar Rao, DCP LBnagar also urged the vendors to act as responsible citizens besides being honest businessmen. Rachakonda IT cell Inspector M. Sridhar Reddy explained about the do’s and don’t’s while taking up community CCTV projects. ACP Crimes Jahangir, IT Cell CCTV SI Sunil and all division system administrators and some 200 vendors attended the meeting. (NSS)
