Centre gives nod for regional ring road: Jithender Reddy

Hyderabad: The Centre, in principle, has agreed to provide funding to construct a 362 km regional ring road in Telangana connecting major areas, according to TRS MP Jithender Reddy.

The TRS MPs held a meeting with NHAI in Delhi and submitted reports on the need for the regional ring road and detailed project report. The new ring road will connect the major towns around Hyderabad city. Jithendar Reddy told mediapersons in Delhi after a meeting with NHAI officials that the Centre was ready for the mega regional ring road and to get a number in 10 days.

The State government has to bear 50% of expenditure for land acquisition and NHAI is to give a number for the purpose, he said. The process of land acquisition and others will begin as soon as the number comes, Jithender Reddy said. “The officials informed us to make arrangements for the land acquisition”, he added. It may be said the TRS MPs havealready met with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and sought permission on December 18.
