Chandrababu Naidu leaves for US tour

Led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, a high level delegation of Andhra Pradesh, will leave for the United States of America beginning from May 4 to bring in the best practices from U.S, besides opening up investment opportunities for their companies.

This long awaited trip is highly significant as the Chief Minister would meet the ‘who’s who’ in the fields of information technology, agriculture, education and so on. Not just that, the State of Andhra Pradesh will sign ‘sister state relations’ with the States of California, Iowa and Illinois to enable closer interactions and investments in a wide range of sectors.

The State of California which shares many similarities with Andhra Pradesh is a power house of information technology and through the proposed agreement; Andhra Pradesh believes that it can share the best practices in areas of IT, agriculture and innovation.

Likewise, the sister state agreement with Iowa will facilitate technology sharing in the field of agriculture as Iowa is the leading state in agricultural research in the USA.

Similarly, the government is keen on enabling transfer of smart technologies with the government of Illinois.

On 4th May the Chief Minister will lead the delegation on a tour of Tesla Factory in Fremont in San Francisco, which is one of the world’s most advanced automobile manufacturing facilities in the world.

On May 8th,  in California, the Chief Minister would receive the 2017 U.S. – India Business Council’s “Transformative Chief Minister Award”, which would be attended by 150 senior leaders of U.S. The award is being bestowed upon him for advancing the U.S – India partnership at the State level.

The Chief Minister is scheduled to hold several meetings with a number of well know CEO’s, besides making field visits to Apple, Google, CISCO, Oracle and many other campuses in the Silicon Valley.

Chandrababu Naidu, along with the Governor of California, will grace the occasion of the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on global climate between the Governments of Andhra Pradesh and California.

The Chief Minister will also address the Pravasi Telugu populace on two different occasions exhorting them to contribute their mite in the development of Andhra Pradesh.

On the penultimate day of the visit, the Chief Minister would attend the dinner meeting being hosted by Mr. John Chambers, Executive Chairman, CISCO at his residence.

On the last day of this momentous visit, he would hold a breakfast meeting with the representatives of the Stanford University and also visit the Franklin Tempelton Office. (INN)
