Chargesheet filed against Pehlu Khan, son expresses surprise

Jaipur: Nearly after two years of mob lynching of Pehlu Khan, Rajasthan Police filed chargesheet against him. Reacting over it, his son, Irshad said that he is surprised.

According to the report published in Hindustan Times, Irshad said that after the formation of the new government, it was expected that government would take back the case. It is surprising that the cops have filed chargesheet in the case, Irshad added.

After row broke out, Rajasthan Chief Minister, Mr. Ashok Gehlot said that the investigation in the case was done by the former BJP government.

“Only the charge sheet has been filed under our government. We will probe if there were any discrepancies in the investigation under the Vasundhara Raje government. A fresh investigation will be ordered if anything wrong is revealed,” Gehlot said.

It may be mentioned that Pehlu Khan was beaten to death on the Jaipur-Delhi Highway in Alwar in the month of April 2017.

However, in chargesheet, Khan was accused under relevant sections of the Rajasthan Bovine Animal Act 1995. Khan’s sons, Irshad (25) and Asif (22) also face charges.
