Chennai Industralist C.V. Karthik Narayanan passes at 79

Chennai: Chennai Industrialist and Ucal Auto Pvt Chairman C.V. Karthik Narayanan passed away at the age of 79 today at his residence in Chennai say reports.

He is survived by his wife, two children son Ram Gopal and daughter Gayathri.

He was the Director of Sundram Fasteners Ltd (SFL) along with leading the famous iconic brand Standard Motor Products of India Ltd in the late 80’s and 90’s.

The Chennai based Industrialist also served as President of Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (earlier called of Indian Automobile Manufacturers and Automotive Research Association of India) in 1980. He has also played an important key role at Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

Known for his much-acclaimed work in translating Kalki’s epic “Ponniyin Selvan” into English.

Remembering him, Suresh Krishna, Chairman and Managing Director of Sundram Fasteners Ltd. said, “A true friend for many years, an industrialist par excellence, a very exalted person with many and varied skills. We will miss his guidance at SFL,” reports the Hindu.
