Chhattisgarh Assembly Results: Jogi weakens BJP

Raipur: Election results of Chhattisgarh Assembly polls proved that Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (JCC-J) of Ajit Jogi weakened BJP more than Congress in the State.

According to the report published in Hindustan Times, earlier, BSP had formed alliance with JCC-J and CPI. It was expected that the alliance may put hurdles for Congress. However, the result proved the contrary.

In 28 constituencies, due to the alliance, BJP and Congress have finished second in 17 and 11 constituencies respectively.

This does not mean that the alliance is only responsible for BJP’s loss rather there are many other factors. The vote share of BJP has also declined significantly.
