Children must take care of parents after retirement: Guv

Hyderabad: Speaking on the occasion of retirement of two staff members of Raj Bhavan — Lakshmi, a Sweeper and Ramachandra Reddy, Head Constable — on attaining the age of retirement at Raj Bhavan on Saturday, Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan said, “After retirement of the employees, it is for the children to take care of their parents because they sacrificed their lives and gave them good education. He appreciated the discipline and dedication with which the two retiring staff members worked at the Raj Bhavan. He said they were role model for other employees. The Governor also appreciated them for taking care of their children and bringing them up to occupy good positions.

The Governor said Ramachandra Reddy, during his long stint of service, worked as VIP car driver for 34 years serving six chief ministers and two Governors and won several medals and awards. He said Ramachandra Reddy was dedicated to his work and used to take him regularly to temple, whatever be the time given to him.

The Governor felicitated the two staff members with shawl and memento. Advisors to Governor A.P.V.N. Sarma, A.K. Mohanty, Secretary to Governor K. Surendra Mohan and other officers and staff members attended the program.
