China starts research into 6G technology

Beijing [China]: The Chinese Minister for Industry and Information Technology Miao Wei has announced the beginning of research into the next-generation of mobile communications networks, 6G.

According to the Sputnik, Wei said the start of the research was closely tied to the constant broadening and development of the “Internet of Things.”

The Minister averred that the use of driverless cars and the overall digitalisation of life in future would require a faster network, capable of transferring massive amounts of data, for proper functioning.

At present, China is working on 5G communication network technology with two prominent Chinese companies, Huawei and ZTE, working on hardware solutions. (ANI)
