City Techie killer in US may face Death Penalty?

The accused in the killing of Hyderabad techie Srinivas Kuchibhotla in the Kansas City of the United States on February 22, Adam Purinton, was produced in a court and charges were framed against him.

It may be mentioned here that Srinivas Kuchibotla was shot dead by Adam Purinton, a Navy veteran, stated to be an alcoholic, in the Austion Bar & Grill in Olathe of Kanasas City. Srinivas and his friend Alok Madisani were enjoying the evening in the bar when the 59-year old accused without any provocation picked an argument with the two and later opened fire shouting “You are Terrorists” , “Get out of my country”. Srinivas died in the shooting incident while Alok and an American were grievously injured.

The police, who arrested the killer, who was hiding in another bar, are framing charges of culpable homicide and other relevant sections. They were also stated to be gathering evidences from eye-witnesses of the shoot-out. It is stated that if proved guilty of the charges, the assailant may even face death penalty. (NSS)
