UP: Class 9 girl allegedly pushed from 3rd floor in school, dies

Deoria, Uttar Pradesh: A class 9 girl died after she was allegedly pushed on Monday from the third floor of the school, in Deoria.

The girl was a student of Modern City Montessori School in Nehru Nagar, she had died while taken to the hospital, reports the HT.

The child’s father said she told him someone had pushed her. She had apparently gone to the third floor to use the toilet.

“I received a call from the school authorities who informed me that my daughter had suffered some injuries. They asked me to reach the district hospital. When I reached there, she was referred to the medical college. On the way, she told me that somebody had pushed her off the building,” he said.

Police are on the lookout for some teachers and the principal of the school who absconded after the incident. A case has been registered under Section 302 against unidentified people based on a complaint from the victim’s father, superintendent of police Rajeev Malhotra said.

The incident comes at a time schools are being scrutinised for their security measures after a class 2 student was found murdered inside a toilet in Gurgaon’s Ryan International School in Haryana.
