Classified information is illegally given out by “intelligence” like candy: Trump

Washington D.C. [United States]: U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday said the classified information is illegally given out by “intelligence” like candy which he described as “Very un-American”.

“The real scandal here is that classified information is illegally given out by “intelligence” like candy. Very un- American!” Trump said in a tweet.

He also said that the reports which are saying that his advisors were in constant communication with Russians known to U.S. intelligence, are an attempt to cover-up the many mistakes made in Hillary Clinton’s losing campaign.

“This Russian connection non-sense is merely an attempt to cover-up the many mistakes made in Hillary Clinton’s losing campaign. Information is being illegally given to the failing @nytimes & @washingtonpost by the intelligence community (NSA and FBI?).Just like Russia,” Trump said in a series of tweet.

This comes after high-level advisors, close to Trump, were in constant communication with Russians known to U.S. intelligence, multiple current and former intelligence, law enforcement and administration officials, during the campaign trail.

According to a report published in CNN, the communications were intercepted during routine intelligence collection targeting Russian officials and other Russian nationals known to U.S. intelligence.

Officials emphasised that communications between campaign staff and representatives of foreign governments are not unusual.

These communications, however, stood out due to the frequency and the level of Trump advisors involved.

The extensive contacts drew concerns of U.S. intelligence and law enforcement officials in part because it came at a time of Russian cyber activities targeting mostly Democratic Party political organisations.

Earlier, the U.S. National Security Adviser Michael Flynn resigned amid a flow of intelligence leaks that he had secretly discussed sanctions with the Russian ambassador to Washington and then tried to cover up the conversation. (ANI)
