Clear Saturday morning in Delhi

New Delhi: It was a clear Saturday morning in the national capital with the minimum temperature recorded at 25.4 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season’s average.

The weather office forecast that the sky will remain cloudy throughout the day and there are chances of light rain, but unlike Friday, it would not be heavy.

After a week-long dry sell, heavy rains lashed Delhi and its neighbourhood bringing the much needed respite.

“Safdarjung area, which is considered representative of Delhi’s weather, received 53.6 mm of rain, the Ridge area received 118.5 mm of rain, and Palam received 21.6 mm rain in the last 24 hours,” an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said as he forecast some rains in the day ahead.

The humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 89 per cent. The maximum temperature was likely to hover around 34 degrees Celsius.

Friday maximum settled at 34.2 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season’s average, while the minimum was recorded at 27.8 degrees Celsius, one notch above the season’s average.
