CLP merger: HC serves notices again on Speaker

Hyderabad: After perusing the petition of Congress leaders against defection of 12 Congress MLAs, the High Court today issued notices to Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and the legislators, who defected to the ruling TRS.

The court had already issued notices on Tuesday to the Assembly Speaker, Council Chairman and MLAs and MLCs in this regard. On Wednesday, the High Court again served notices on the Speaker and others followed by a petition from Congress leaders N Utham Kumar Reddy and Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. The High Court has already adjourned the case for next four weeks while Congress leader Shabbir Ali sought to cancel the merger decision delivered by the Speaker through a bulletin issued to the media. Legislators who got court notices are: D Sudhir Reddy, Lingaiah, P Sabitha Indra Reddy, Haripriya, Upender Reddy, R Kantha Rao, Atram Sakku, Harshavardhan Reddy, Vanama Venkateshwar Rao and J Surender. The court also adjourned the petition to tomorrow seeking to put on hold the merger of the Congress leaders into the TRS.
