CM Adityanath sweeps road outside Taj Mahal during Agra visit

Agra: After a BJP leader called Taj Mahal names like a ‘blot on Indian culture’, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday during his Taj Mahal visit swept road outside the monument.

The CM apparently to promote Swacch Bharat Mission wearing a mask and gloves was seen cleaning parking area with a broom. Adityanath was accompanied by about 500 BJP members, state Tourism Minister Rita Bahuguna Joshi, MLAs from western Uttar Pradesh and scores of security personnel.

Over 14,000 policemen were deployed across the city for CM’s security, who arrived the city on Thursday morning, reports the DC.

The CM’s visit is being seen as a damage repair that erupted when the monument was neglected from UP tourism guide. Moreover, BJP MLA Sangeet Som called Taj Mahal a “blot on Indian history” and BJP MP Vinay Katiyar said it was originally a Shiva temple.

On the other hand, Adityanath called Taj Mahal the “pride of India” and referred to it as a “world class monument” in a rally at Gorakhpur.
