CM meets Gadkari for 334 km NH

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao today met Union Minister for Surface Transport & Road development Nitin Gadkari in Delhi and discussed on developing State roads into national highways, regional ring road and several projects.
KCR urged Gadkari to accord permission to develop an express highway as a six-lane regional ring road on 334 km stretch in Telangana.

He appealed to Gadkari to accord permission for another 154-km stretch of Sanga Reddy-Toopran-Chowtuppal road to develop it as a highway. He also asked for instructing the officials for starting related steps and give alignments and notifications to those already accorded permission.

So far, the Centre has already offered permission for 180-km stretch highway connecting Chowtuppal-Shadnagar-Kandi, which was estimated to cost about Rs 5,000 crore for this project. The Chief Minister urged Gadkari to instruct the officials to speed up the related works. KCR also appealed to Gadkari to construct these roads as green highways and provide to NHIA to develop state highways into national highways in the State.

KCR, who is in Delhi for a couple of days, has been meeting with several ministers on State issues besides meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and got his approval for zonal system of giving 95 per cent quota to local candidates to get jobs.

MPs B Vinod Kumar and Narsaiah Goud were present during the meeting with Gadkari.
