CM offers Rs 10 lakh to 1969 movement victim

In a rare gesture Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today directed officials to pay Rs 10 lakhs financial assistance to Pagadala Parandhama of Hyderabad who was injured in a police firing during statehood movement at General Bazar in Secunderabad on April 4 in 1969. He sustained bullet injuries in chest and on leg in the statehood movement and facing health problem besides taking hardship to maintain family. Parandhama recently met KCR and apprised him of about his poor financial condition. With lone daughter and having lost his son while swimming, Parandhama is facing acute financial problems that moved the chief minister. He asked the officials to immediately give Rs 10 lakh to Parandhama, a release said. (NSS)
