CM releases “Journey of the Hyderabad City Police”

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao today released a Coffee Table Book “Journey of the Hyderabad City Police” penned by Noopur Kumar in the Pragathi Bhavan.

Beautiful oil paintings on the progress of the City Police network since its inception till date was compiled in the book. In the book, it was explained in a racy style about the journey made by the city police from patrolling on bicycles to CCTV cameras, from cycle to cyber times and the changes that took place during the period.

           

The specialty of Hyderabad in the Law & Order front, police setup in olden days, Kotwal system during Qutub Shahis regime, police network during Nizam’s rule, the great Ganga-Jamuna Tehjeeb of Hyderabad where Hindus and Muslims lived in harmony, great personalities in the police, the duties and responsibilities of the City police, changes that were brought in the traffic management, new challenges in the new millennium, details of those worked as the City Police Commissioners, and a host of other subjects were dealt with in the book.

           

The Chief Minister congratulated Ms Noopur Kumar for bringing out the beautiful book. Additional DGP Anjani Kumar supervised production of the book. Former DGP Anurag Sharma, in-charge DGP M Mahender Reddy and Government Chief Advisor Rajiv Sharma were present at the program.

The newly appointed DGP Mahender Reddy and his predecessor Anurag Sharma met the Chief Minister and profusely thanked him for their new appointments. The CM congratulated both the senior officials.

Farewell to Anurag Sharma on Tuesday

The Chief Minister reportedly decided to hold a farewell meeting to outgoing DGP Anurag Sharma, the first DGP of the Telangana State, on Tuesday at Pragati Bhavan. Anurag Sharma is retiring on Sunday. (NSS)
