Colourful battery-operated autorickshaws to be deployed for tourists visiting Charminar

Hyderabad: Tourists willing to visit the historical Charminar this summer vacation will receive a pleasant surprise as the Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation has proposed to introduce battery-operated autorickshaws at heritage destinations in the city.

The battery-operated autorickshaws will be open and colourful and will increase the joy of the tour to Charminar. According to sources the facility will be made available by Tourism Department of Telangana, at Salarjung Museum, Charminar, Makkah Masjid, Chawmohalla Palace and Nizam’s Museum.

According to MD Telangana Tourism development Corporation initially 20 autos will be deployed. The route map of battery operated autorickshaws is from Salarjung museum to Charminar, Charminar to Chowmahalla palace, Chowmahalla palace to Nizam’s museum and Nizam’s museum to Salarjung museum, and the service will later be extended to other landmarks.

The fare will be Rs. 200 per person including the ticket to the tourist spots it is taking to. Children below 5 years are exempted from the fare. The service will begin in the first week of May.
