Combined net worth of billionaires globally is $9.1 trillion, $440.10 billion in India, reveals Forbes billionaire list 2018

Mumbai: According to the Forbes billionaire list, 2018 which is considered as the most authentic ranking of the world’s richest, India has 119 billionaires this year compared to 101 during the last year.

Globally, there are 2,208 billionaires compared to 2,043 billionaires in 2017.

Indian billionaires

1. Mukesh Ambani (Global Rank: 19) – Net worth $40.1 billion
2. Azim Premji (58) — $18.60 billion
3. Lakshmi Mittal (62) — $18.5 billion
4. Shiv Nadar (98) — $14.6 billion
5. Dilip Shanghvi (115) — $ 12.8 billion

World billionaires

1. Jeff Bezos — $112 billion
2. Bill Gates — $90 billion
3. Warren Buffet — $84 billion
4. Bernard Arnault and family — $72 billion
5. Mark Zuckerberg — $71 billion

In India, among the billionaires, Mukesh Ambani tops the list with a net worth of $40.10 billion. He is also ranked among top 20 globally.

According to the news reported in Hindustan Times, the combined net worth of the Indian billionaires is $440.10 billion compared with $325.5 billion last year, globally the net worth of billionaires is $9.1 trillion compared with $7.67 trillion last year.

Chairman of Wipro Ltd, Azim Premji ranks second among the Indian billionaires. He is followed by ArcelorMittal Chairman Lakshmi Mittal.

Azim Premji’s wealth grew from $14.9 billion in the last year to $18.60 billion this year.

PNB scam accused Nirav Modi’s name did not appear in the list this year. In 2017, his net worth was $1.70 billion, but now it is less than $100 million.

Interestingly, this year, number of Indian women on the list increased from four during the last year to eight this year. The combined net worth of women is $23.5 billion, and this time 256 women made into the list of Forbes World billionaire rankings.

Globally, Amazon.com Inc’s founder Jeff Bezos topped the list with a net worth of $112 billion. Bill Gates topped second with a net worth of $90 billion.
