New Delhi: In a remarkable display of communal harmony, during the janamashtami procession Hindus raised ‘Nara-e-Takbeer’ slogan when the procession reached Bada Hindu Rao masjid. The locals of the area were pleasantly surprised.
So far we had been receiving the reports of provocative slogans raised during religious processions, but this time Hindus showed communal harmony and revived the cosmopolitan culture of India thus discouraging the communal elements.
This time also elaborate security arrangements were made in the area fearing communal tension as the procession had to pass that way, but when the procession reached Ahle Sunnat Masjid of Bada Hindu Rao, all those present there were surprised to hear Nara-e-Takbeer slogan raised by Hindus. At first, it was thought that the slogans were raised by Muslims, but going after the procession, it was found that elderly and youth donning saffron attire with Tilak on their forehead were raising slogan.
Social worker Sayeed Khan said we were pleased to see the message of brotherhood by the participants of the procession. We welcomed the procession at Azad market; people of both the communities hugged each other and distributed sweets.
