New Delhi: After BJP’s defeat in Araria bypolls, it was claimed that some RJD supporters raised anti-national slogans. Their claims were based on a video which went viral. It was alleged that the supporters of RJD candidate, Sarfaraz Alam who won the election were seen raising pro-Pakistan slogans. As expected, some media channels showed this video.

It may be mentioned that on 16th March, Zee Hindustan held a discussion under the title, “Jeeta Musalman, Aab Araria Atankistan”. However, during the discussion, the anchor said that the channel does not claim authenticity of the video.

A former member of Sachhar committee, Mr. Ashish Joshi lodged a complaint with News Broadcasting Standard Authority (NBSA).

Questions have been raised about the authenticity of this video

Meanwhile, the statement of Union Minister Mr. Giriraj Singh reportedly had insulted the mandate of the people of Araria.
