Complaint registered against “Zee Hindustan” for allegedly promoting communal agenda

New Delhi: After BJP’s defeat in Araria bypolls, it was claimed that some RJD supporters raised anti-national slogans. Their claims were based on a video which went viral. It was alleged that the supporters of RJD candidate, Sarfaraz Alam who won the election were seen raising pro-Pakistan slogans. As expected, some media channels showed this video.

It may be mentioned that on 16th March, Zee Hindustan held a discussion under the title, “Jeeta Musalman, Aab Araria Atankistan”. However, during the discussion, the anchor said that the channel does not claim authenticity of the video.

A former member of Sachhar committee, Mr. Ashish Joshi lodged a complaint with News Broadcasting Standard Authority (NBSA).

Meanwhile, the statement of Union Minister Mr. Giriraj Singh reportedly had insulted the mandate of the people of Araria.
