Compton vows to stick to his batting techniques

London: Recalled England batsman Nick Compton, who was included in the squad after a gap of two years, has said that he will continue trusting his method that had helped him to reach this level as he prepares for the fourth and the final Test against South Africa.

According to the Daily Express, Compton said he had tried different style of batting but didn’t achieve success, adding that he would now continue to carry on with his method that had got him to this level.

The 32-year-old insisted that although he might not have as glamorous qualities as other players, he still has enough to contribute to his side.

Compton made a brilliant comeback as he smashed 85 and 49 during his side’s 241-run victory against the Proteas in the first Test, but managed to score just 86 runs in the next two Tests.

Earlier, South Africa suffered a seven-wicket defeat in the third Test in Johannesburg to give England a series win and thereby losing the number one Test ranking to India.

Cook-led side will now play their final match against South Africa at Super Sport Park in Centurion, starting from Friday. (ANI)
