`Confident` Kyrgios downplays injury, says ready `for whatever comes`

Melbourne : Downplaying the seriousness of his leg injury, ontroversial Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios has insisted that he ready and confident for the upcoming Australian Open.

Kyrgios claims that after his quarter-finals defeat to world number two Andy Murray last season, he has now improved and feels more confident about himself.

The 29th seed said that when he lost against Murray, it almost felt like he was exhausted and was mentally and physically drained, news.com.au reported.

The 20-year-old mercurial player, however, said that this year, he feels like he has grown up, insisting that he has made a lot of physical improvement and is ready for whatever comes his way.

Kyrgios added that he feels more relaxed and has got a lot of confidence on his game as compared to the previous year.

Talking about his leg problem which he had suffered this week at the Open’s practice courts, he said that he had overcome it. (ANI)
