Congress accuses KCR of running anti-women party

Hyderabad: The Congress party has dubbed the Telangana Rastra Samiti (TRS) an anti-women party while alleging that Telangana caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) is benefitting his family members rather than common people of the state.

All India Congress Committee (AICC) official spokesperson Kushbu Sundar while addressing the media said, “TRS is an anti-women party. Chandrashekar Rao talks about women empowerment in the state, while there is no woman in his cabinet. K. Kavitha, daughter of Chandrashekar Rao is the only woman Member of Parliament (MP) from the TRS, while the Congress has given 11 seats to women.”

She further said that atrocities against women in Telangana have gone up during the TRS regime.

Continuing her tirade against KCR government in Telangana, she said, “The TRS government has failed to set up the medical centers in rural areas. Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao has become a commission man benefitting his family members rather than common people of Telangana.”

She further accused the state government of working only for the rich and providing benefits only to the private medical sector.

The Assembly elections in the state are scheduled to be held on December 7 to elect members from 119 constituencies. The counting of votes will take place on December 11.
The Telangana Assembly was dissolved prematurely in September on the recommendation of the ruling TRS government.
