Congress accuses KTR of violating Model Code of Conduct

Hyderabad: A delegation of the Congress party on Wednesday met Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Rajat Kumar and requested him to initiate action against Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader K. T. Rama Rao for violating the Model Code of Conduct.

Senior party leader and AICC secretary Madhu Yashki Goud, who led the delegation, said that Rao conducted a meeting officially in Telangana’s Pragathi Bhavan along with the IT Secretary to the government and tweeted those pictures for campaigning, which is a clear violation of Model Code of Conduct.

“We brought this to the notice of Chief Election Commissioner of Telangana and he assured to take action in the matter. We will also report about this to the Election Commission and ask them to take action,” he told ANI.

Meanwhile, Kumar said that the complaints will be examined and appropriate action will be taken.
Telangana will go to polls on December 7, while the results will be announced on December 11.

The 119-member assembly was dissolved on September 6, 2018, on the recommendation of the ruling K Chandrasekhar Rao-led TRS government.
