Congress alone can give special status to AP: Kiran

Kurnool: Former chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has said Andhra Pradesh State will get special status only when AICC Chief Rahul Gandhi became Prime Minister.

Addressing public meeting here on Tuesday, Kiran Kumar Reddy demanded that the AP State government provide industrial subsidies to backward districts in the State. He said he provided 1.15 lakh jobs when he was chief minister. The present government has to pay Rs.2,300 crore to women under loans. He also announced that essential goods will be distributed through ration shops in case the Congress returns to power. He asked the YSRCP whether it launched a single movement for the sake of public issues. He also ridiculed the YSRCP saying that the party had called upon the people to “shoot and hang the TDP government” which did nothing.

Former Union minister Kotla Suryaprakash Reddy said the Congress ruled the country irrespective of caste and creed. “Some people resorted to campaign that the Congress was no more. But the Congress never dies. It will live forever. The present government is working only for the sake of yellow shirts”, he alleged.

APCC Chief N Raghuveera Reddy, State observer Omen Chandy, Union former ministers Pallam Raju, JD Sheelam, Congress leaders—Byreddy Rajashekar Reddy, Shailajanath, KVP Ramachandrarao and others participated in the meeting.
