Congress canard on EVMs mischievous: TRS MP

Hyderabad: TRS MP Boora Narsaiah Goud today said the litigation happy Congress party was unable to digest its unceremonious defeat in the recent Assembly polls and moving courts with ill-intentions.

Talking to the media here, Narsaiah Goud accused the Congress party of resorting to move the court alleging tampering of EVMs which was not right. The Congress government which had introduced the EVMs for elections was now opposing the same due its defeat at the elections, he said. The TRS leader also flayed the Congress leadership for coming in the way of development and blaming the ruling party alleging tampering of the EVMs and lapses in the Election Commission voting chance to people. Both the UPA and the NDA will not get majority in the future polls, he said, adding that the Congress had won the polls in three States in Assembly polls through the same EVMs, but now harping on faulty EVMs as it faced defeat in Telangana, he charged.

Referring to Congress in-charge of AP Oomen Chandy’s statement that there will be electoral alliance between the Congress and Telugu Desam party in future polls, Narsaiah Goud sought a clarification on the comments like TRS-A team for the BJP and B team for others. The TRS will certainly win 16 MP seats in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections, he added.

The Congress moved the courts before and after the Assembly polls. The litigation tendency of the Congress was a danger to the democracy and people were laughing at their remarks, he said. “Chief Minister K Chadrashekar Rao will play a key role at the Centre in future as surveys gave mandate in favour of the TRS. Certainly, the federal front against the Congress and the BJP will emerge victorious at the Centre in the polls”, he asserted.
