Congress ‘cautions’ National leaders against KCR’s front

Entering into a direct confrontation mode, the Congress party on Friday dispatched letters to leaders of various political parties asking them to be cautious against Telangana Chief Minister and TRS president K. Chandrashekhar Rao who is approaching them to form a ‘Federation Front’.

“KCR is indulging in pomposity and attempting to project himself across the country as the messiah of democracy striving for strengthening federal system in the country. But, you must know that in reality he is a dictator who neither believes in democracy nor in Indian constitution. Having secured illegal wealth due to various irrigation projects in the state of Telangana, he is now dreaming of emerging as national leader. He is known for cheap political tactics, utter lies and organized loot,” said Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) General Secretary & Chief Spokesperson Dr. Sravan Dasoju in his open letter sent to about a dozen political leaders. Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, Sravan informed that the letters are being sent to West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik, UP’s ex-CM Akhilesh Yadav and other leaders.

Sravan alleged that KCR has adopted a deceptive rhetoric ‘need for qualitative change in national politics’ to pursue his secret goal of benefiting BJP. “KCR may overtly appear to be criticizing BJP and Congress party, but covertly he is a strong supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his rhetoric was under the influence of Amit Shah. When TDP Supremo N Chandrababu Naidu departed from NDA due to the issue of special status to Andhra Pradesh, the duo leaders of BJP found new friend in KCR and through him, they are polarizing anti-BJP and secular political parties so that these political parties do not ally with Congress party eventually,” he said in his letter.

The Congress leader has accused KCR of implementing ‘the most malicious strategy of disintegrating the solidarity of anti-BJP political parties’ especially at a time when the entire nation is looking for Congress-led UPA to protect the democracy in India and Rahul Gandhi is being seen as a new hope of India. “KCR is talking of Federal Front only with the UPA allies. So, this is the clear ploy to see NDA’s edge and weakening the UPA,” he said.

“You may wish to understand the hypocrisy and double standards of KCR when he is meeting different leaders across the nation. After meeting Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata, he spoke of paradigm shift in Indian politics and said that there must be a Federal Front. during meet with Deve Gowda in Bengaluru and in Hyderabad he said that a federal front sans Congress-BJP be formed headed by him. Whereas after meeting DMK Leader Stalin in Chennai, he said that he did not talk of front anywhere but media only propagated it. Further, he says that regional parties will win more seats in the 2019 elections during meeting with Kanimozhi. KCR’s political wandering and the formation of Federal Front was not his own idea but is actually enacting as per the script and direction of PM Modi and Amit Shah,” he said while pointing out that Amit Shah has recently welcomed the formation of Federal Front and openly said “KCR is his friend”.

Sravan also alleged that KCR has been playing to the tunes of Narendra Modi due to fear of CBI enquiry into Provident Fund Scam of Sahara Group and ESI Hospital scam.

He also pointed out that KCR was the first CM to support demonitisation and introduce GST. “TRS supported BJP candidates in the President and Vice President’s election TRS MPs sabotaged the attempts of No Confidence Motion in the Parliament. KCR did not send anyone to the southern state finance ministers’ meet held in Kerala against the injustice being done to Southern States in allocation of funds,” he said.

“KCR who speaks of qualitative change in national politics is shamelessly indulged in violation of anti-defection law, and forced many opposition MLAs and MPs to his party by misusing his power. The strength of TRS in 2014 was only 63, which is now rose to 82. Moreover, he gave ministries to the MLAs who defected from other parties. He has scant respect for Indian constitution of democratic values,” he alleged. (INN)
