New Delhi: After facing recurring defeat since Modi government came to power at the centre, the Congress for the first time emerged victorious in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The results not only boosted the morale of Congress but have paved way for party’s victory in 2019 elections.
Now the Congress faces yet another challenge of selecting Chief Ministers of the three states, especially Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Because in both the states there are young faces against the veteran leaders.
In Madhya Pradesh, there is a tug of war between former Union Minister and 10-time MP Kamal Nath and young face Jyotiraditya Scindia. While veteran warhorse Kamal Nath was the state president of Madhya Pradesh, Rahul Gandhi had appointed Scindia the chairman of Campaign Committee.
Similarly, in Rajasthan, there is a tug of war between Sachin Pilot and Congress General Secretary and two-time chief minister Ashok Gehlot. Pilot is the young face who has been working for the party in the state for the past 5 years. He is a young dynamic and favourite leader of Rajasthan people.
