TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has made it clear that the Congress party will give tickets in the coming elections only to the candidates follow the Mahatma Gandhi thoughts and ideals.
After unveiling a statue of Mahatma Gandhi at Chintakani in Madhira constituency here on Thursday, Bhatti said the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi were needed to the nation and called upon the people to serve the nation in the path of Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi was not confined to a single caste or section and he was a universal citizen. Everyone across the world looks at Mahatma Gandhi’s path whenever a problem arose or there was a war like situation. Mahatma Gandhi uprooted Birtish rule with non-violence and Sathyagraha.
Unfortunately, a section of people provoked Gadse to kill Gandhi within one year of attaining the nation freedom. He said that the people, who were worshipping Gadse, were danger to the democracy in the nation. He said that the Congress party was striving for the Gram Swaraj, which was evolved from the ideas of Mahathma Gandhi. As part of Gandhi ideals, the then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi allocated funds directly to the local bodies by amending the constitution through 73 and 74. He made it clear that the Congress party will give priority to the ideals oif Mahathma Gandhi in the 2019 election manifesto. (NSS)
