Hyderabad: In the General Elections, the Congress party is likely to field Chairman of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Minorities Dept. against Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) Chief, Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi.
According to the report published in Newscreeper, Chairman of TPCC Minorities Committee, Mr. Abdullah Sohail may contest against MIM Chief.
It may be mentioned that Mr. Sohail had joined Congress in 1985. In 1989, he was appointed as General Secretary of B-Block of Asifnagar Constituency. Between 2002 and 2007, he served as Vice President of Hyderabad City Congress Committee.
In 2018, he became the State Chairman of TPCC’s Minorities Department.
The party is likely to field due to many reasons. One of the reasons is the fact that he was able to organize massive rallies and public meetings in the Old City of Hyderabad.
On 10th March, the Congress is expected to announce the candidates for General elections.
