Congress & TDP saw Muslims as voting machines: KTR

Hyderabad: Caretaker Minister KT Rama Rao today lashed out at the previous congress and the TDP regimes for seeing the Muslims as mere vote bank and ignoring their welfare on coming to power. He was addressing a meeting of Muslims at Rose Gardens in Nampally here along with deputy chief minister Mahamood Ali, home minister N Narsimha Reddy and others.

He said the TRS Boss K Chandrasekhar Rao on coming to power has accorded top priority to all communities, people made a fearless living and there was no incident against anyone living in the city. KCR Government has launched separate residential schools for the Muslims and started Shadi Mubarak giving Rs 1.116 lakh towards marriage, he stated.

Mahmood Ali slammed the past governments for ignoring the Muslims for the past six decades. After independence, no government in the combined state have bothered about the Muslims welfare, he alleged. However KCR who achieved the statehood after a long fight has carved out several schemes for the Muslims, Ali said. The deputy chief minister also said that the TRS regime has been launching welfare schemes for Muslims including residential schools, colleges with all facilities and marriage scheme. The Muslims were lagging behind in education sector and the KCR government has addressed the issue by setting up adequate number of educational institutions, he said. Ali also said that the ruling party has been according equal priority to the Muslims with others to celebrate festivals.

Narsimha Reddy also flayed the successive governments in the combined state for not helping the Muslims to develop. KCR Government has been offering scholarship to the Muslims to pursue higher education in foreign countries besides opening up significant number of schools and colleges.
