Corruption probe: Saudi authorities demand cash for freedom

Riyadh: Authorities of Saudi Arabia are demanding cash for the freedom of those detained in the corruption probe.
According to the news published in The Hans India, they were asked to hand over assets and cash for the freedom.
It is also reported that one of the businessmen withdrawn tens of millions of Saudi Riyals after agreeing to the deal. Another person who is a former senior official decided to surrender shares worth 4 billion riyal.
However, till now, Saudi government did not make any comment on these deals.
It may be mentioned that earlier, Saudi anti-corruption committee had detained 11 princes, four sitting ministers and dozens of former ministers. The committee is headed by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Saudi authorities have also announced to freeze the bank accounts of suspects detained in corruption probe in the country.
