Court extends Christian Michel’s 5-day CBI custody

New Delhi: A Delhi Court on Monday extended the CBI custody of British national Christian Michel James, the middleman accused in the Rs 3,600-crore AgustaWestland VVIP chopper deal case, for another five days.

Special Judge Arvind Kumar allowed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to quiz the middleman for another five days.

However, the CBI requested the court to grant nine days custody of James as he is required to be confronted with documents.

James was presented before the court after expiry of his five-day CBI custody. On the night of December 4, he was extradited to India from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
