In a rare gesture, City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, IPS, today offered sweets and chocolates to the children of police personnel and had launch with police constables, officers and their families.
The CP called all the police personnel and officials working in the police station and their families to the Afzalgunj Police Station and interacted with them. The main purpose of the get-together was to introduce the family members and children of police constables and officers to the working environment of their husbands and fathers. More than 100 family members attended the function.
There was a lot of excitement, most of the family members said it was their first visit to the police station where their husbands were working. They were very happy to see the nice working conditions at the police station. The children were very excited when they were received by Reception Officer and they got thrilled to see the CCTV network.
The wives said respect for their husbands has gone up. They Commissioner also explained to the family members that citizen-friendly policing was the need of the hour. Every police man should attract smiles from common public. The initiative and practice was seen globally where family members are invited to see the work place. The Commissioner offered sweets and chocolates to all the children and participated in launch with all the Police Constable Officers and their families. (NSS)
